Clear Guide to Cancel LA Fitness Personal Training – Read Before You Sign!

I want to share a step-by-step guide based on my own experience canceling a personal training agreement at LA Fitness (Kirkland, WA). I hope this saves others from confusion and unexpected charges.

💡 How to cancel LA Fitness personal training:

  1. Check your contract. You usually receive it by email when you first sign. Look for your Agreement Number or Barcode Number.

  2. Write a physical cancellation letter. LA Fitness requires written notice by mail. (See my template below.)

  3. Send it via Certified Mail with Return Receipt to:

    LA Fitness
    ATTN: 3-Day Desk
    P.O. Box 55088
    Irvine, CA 92619
  4. Wait… but don’t expect a reply. In my case, I never received a cancellation confirmation, even after 2 months. I only got a response when I disputed the charge through my credit card, and LA Fitness then responded to the bank by attaching my cancellation confirmation.

📝 Template you can use:

LA Fitness,

I am writing to formally request the cancellation of my personal training agreement with LA Fitness. My agreement number is <Your Agreement Number>, and my barcode is <Your Barcode>.

My initial 6-month term has ended, and the agreement is now on a month-to-month basis. As such, I would like to cancel the agreement effective immediately and request that no further charges be applied to my account.

Please consider this letter as my written notice of cancellation. Kindly confirm the termination of my agreement and send me a confirmation of the cancellation at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
<Your Name and Contact Info>

✅ Summary:

  • Canceling in person is not enough.

  • They won’t tell you it requires a physical mailed letter.

  • No confirmation unless you push them or dispute a charge.

  • Keep all receipts (Certified Mail tracking, delivery confirmation, etc.)

I hope this helps others avoid what I went through. If this was helpful, please give this a thumbs up so more people can see it!
